Flipkart Spotlist: Indian e-commerce giant, Flipkart has launched a new instant cataloguing service called Spotlist. Amazon has also a similar program called Amazon Tatkal. Officials named theses programs as Pan India initiatives. The main aim of the Flipkart Spotlight and Amazon Tatkal is to engage small scale vendors to operate and sell on their platform. Flipkart Spotlight program, in addition will also offer and extend the service to freelance wedding and party photographers as cataloguing partners. The billion dollar Indian E-Commerce market has tons of opportunities for both enterprises and startups. There is a tough and extremely hard competition between the online retailers.
Flipkart Spotlist a service that offers instant cataloguing and listing for small-scale sellers and artisans in India. Spotlist is a program to assist small scale sellers and vendors to sell their products on Flipkart. Another major feature of the Flipkart Spotlist is that the company will reach to the vendors to list their products online. Which means the small scale sellers can just stay at their premises and can sell their products on Flipkart. Flipkart, leading the Indian online retail market has turned it’s founders into billionaires. Recently published Forbes Indian billionaire list has the names of Flipkart founders listed.
Cataloguing is a process where vendors and sellers list and pack their items, so as to sell them on Flipkart. Back in the old days, a seller or vendor has to go to the Flipkart partner center or authorized office to get their products catalogued. This would be difficult for small scale vendors. The new Flipkart Spotlist program will help small scale vendors and sellers to sell their products on Flipkart without any hassle. Amazon, one of the main competitors of Flipkart has launched a similar program and named it as Amazon Tatkal. Undoubtedly, Flipkart Spotlist is gonna give a tough competition to Amazon. Snapdeal has also a similar program which is called as Snapdeal Sherpalo.
According to the Flipkart Spotlist program, the cataloguing partners will travel to the seller locations by a vehicle which is equipped with necessary cataloguing tools and technologies that includes cameras, half-mannequins or photo-boxes. Spotlist technicians will help sellers to list their products instantly following the shoot. Since last year, the Spotlight service has been launched in five key metros – Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad. So far, over 1000 sellers across categories have availed this service and close to 10,000 products have been catalogued. Flipkart’s Spotlist comes just after few hours of the launch of Amazon Tatkal. Amazon launched Amazon Tatkal on the same day. Alike Spotlist, Amazon Tatkal also focuses on integrating small scale enterprises and medium establishments to its web portal.
