A 15 year old teen has won $250,000 in a drone race. Dubai World Drone Prix is a grand race where drones from all over the world compete. The 15 year old teen is from UK. Dubai World Drone Prix is one of the largest races in the world. Over 2000 spectators gathered to watch drone races over 60 mph. Luke Bannister navigated his drone through the custom built track to beat 32 other teams.

Pre-qualifying races around the world has eliminated over 100 competitors. In march, the remaining 32 teams met in Dubai. They competed for a prize pool of over 1 million dollars. Competitors use a VR Headset to see a first person view while flying. Drone racing is rapidly transforming from a hobby into a professional sport. Dubai has announced that it will host the world future sports games in 2017. These games feature drone racing and several forms of AI competitions.
