Dropbox, is the major file hosting and cloud storage company with above 400 million users. But, it’s struggling to catch hold of its $10 Billion Estimation in the aspect of inspection from investors. And now it looks like the company dropping off from its business.
DropBox is going to shut down Mailbox and Carousel, its email and photo apps in a few more months, according to reliable sources. “Building new products is about learning as much as it’s about making. It’s also about tough choices. Over the past few months, we’ve increased our team’s focus on collaboration and simplifying the way people work together. In light of that, we’ve made the difficult decision to shut down Carousel and Mailbox”, Dropbox co-founders Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi wrote in the blog post.
Mailbox will shut down in Februrary 26, 2016, and Carousel will stop working in March 31,2016. Still Carousel is running because and updating because of designing a export tool to export all the media from it to DropBox or other platforms, as it doesn’t exist much more days. So, for customer’s compatibility DropBox made this decision. However, I think DropBox is backing off due to many reasons, but still productive to prove itself.
